Dimora (n): a large and stately mansion.
Essentially the manor house of Felicita, Dimora offers unsurpassed luxury wrapped up in fine linen and fluffy towels. The Tuscan-styled 6-suite house stands as testament to owner Wayne Gordon’s vision. Born from a dream, lovingly built, and painstakingly furnished with exquisite attention to detail, this Grand Dame is the crowning glory of all that Felicita stands for.
Every room has been carefully appointed to reflect the essence of Felicita. Quietly elegant, with spectacular views throughout, the 3 double suites downstairs have easy access to the shared full bath & shower bathroom, while the 3 remaining suites upstairs share two large shower & toilet bathrooms.
The spacious kitchen is every chef’s dream, and the ideal place to prepare either a feast or an intimate dinner, if the traditional South African braai is not on the menu. A wood-fired pizza oven makes for some adventurous outdoor cooking. You can dine at rustic wooden tables with a medieval feel, or in summer, out on the terrace, where the only thing that will overshadow your cooking is the majestic mountain vista.
The main hall is the perfect spot to sink into a comfortable sofa in the evenings. Here you can enjoy a glass of excellent local wine in front of the massive fireplace, catch up on your latest Netflix series, or while away the hours with board games. The Stanford wine route was established in 2014 and is already producing outstanding award-winning, cool-climate wines. Whatever your preference, from dry roses to full-bodied reds, or a classic MCC, you’ll find it in this riverside town. A winter evening glass of wine on that sofa? In front of a roaring fire? It’s sounding better already.
In the warmer months, the sparkling pool is where you want to be. Soaking up an African sun, sipping a pina colada and relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere of this little piece of heaven on earth.
